Reducing emissions of HFCs and PFCs from equipment will have a number of benefits other tan just environmental protection. For example, reducing leakage from equipment will mean that the equipment remains at an optimum charge for its designed operation, thereby improving the energy performance of the equipment. Furthermore, reducing leakage will result in less fluid being required for top-up hence reducing costs. Recovery, recycling, reclamation and destruction will again reduce the costs by avoiding the need to purchase new fluids to maintain operation of equipment.
